Writing by the Seat of Your Pants

Some people meticulously plan out their stories, even novels and whole series of novels, before writing the first paragraph of actual story. But for some of us, the whole idea of having to have everything planned out becomes overwhelming. At best, it adds enormous anxiety to the writing process, as we try to make sure we don't accidentally leave something out, or be locked out of doing something later simply because it wasn't in the plan when we started. At worse, it can leave us completely frozen solid, unable to move forward at all.

Over at Mad Genius Club, Kate Paulk, pantser extrordinaire, has some advice for the extreme pantser on how to live with an extremely subconscious-driven writing process.
